2017 has been a fantastic year for both my professional photography and my personal photography! As some of you know, photography is a side-job for me. I have a day-job as a graphic designer that I love. So with that being said, my goals for this year and next year are pretty laid back and nothing huge.
This year I’ve done 34 professional sessions: 12 portraits, 9 couples, 6 babies, 5 families, 2 weddings, and a partridge in a pear tree. I’ve grown so much this year it’s insane. I finally created a website with my own domain, I bought a full-frame camera, I developed my editing niche, and I’ve found my shooting style. I’m growing towards warm, deep toned images that create a “mood” and intimate feeling. I’ve joined various photography forums and communities that made all this growth possible and have met some amazing friends along the way. The fun thing about photographers: community over competition. I love the photography community and I’m excited for more meet-ups and coffee dates!
My goals for next year include: shooting at least 5 weddings (I have 3 booked, and 1 pending!), connect with more Knoxville photographers, photograph more babies and families, do more personal styled shoots for FUN, invest in a new lens, and reach 1,000 followers on my social media platforms. See? Nothing huge. :)
For my personal photography, I’m gone more towards a documentary and landscape style. This year, I’ve been into the Smokies at least 4 times, been to 5 different states, and took lots of pictures of my dogs. Next year, I want to go on more adventures, do more photography challenges, and take even more pictures of my dogs.
So I now present to you my “Best of 2017” collection. These are just some personal favorites, in no particular order. I did, however, categorize them based on genre.
I hope you enjoy! None of this would have been possible without you all. So THANK YOU for supporting my photography and helping me grow. <3
